Kent Automotive

Hi-Brade FC-G is a smaller diameter flux cored wire of our Hi-Brade FC alloy. It is designed to be gas shielded and run on DC- (straight polarity). This wire offers unique characteristics including the ability to weld on the edge of a 1/8” plate and weld uphill in a weave technique and horizontal in stringer beads. This makes Hi-Brade FC-G ideal for many applications, including pulp and paper and other processing equipment. Deposits are wear-resistant to 1000°F/538°C. Hi-Brade FC-G uses inexpensive CO2 shielding gas or 75% Ar/25% CO2.
• Straight polarity only — minimizes heat and distortion
• Deposit will cross check — for stress relief
• Smooth arc — for exceptional control
• Reduced spatter — less clean-up
• Hardness: 60 Rc (single pass 1020 steel) 62 Rc (2 passes 1020 steel)Max number of passes: 2Current: DCEN (DC-)Gas: 75% AR/25% CO2 or 100% CO2
Remove fatigued metal and heavy surface contaminants. Set the machine for DC+ (electrode postive) and other parameters according to the chart below. For out-of-position welding, set parameter to lower settings. Use stringer or weave bead technique with a downhand angle.
