To test for voltage on lines, cables, plugs, sockets or switches, place indicator close to object. Press button. If voltage is present, LED indicator will light continuously, and an audible indicator will be heard.To determine ground to earth, place indicator near metal on grounded appliance. Press button. If ground is disconnected, LED indicator will light continuously and an audible indicator will be heard.When checking polarity, LED indicator shines brightly and an audible indicator is heard to quickly identify hot wire.
