222 Cast Iron Stick Rod Electrode, Flux Coated, 170 to 220 HB Hardness, 80-110 Amps, DCRP/DCSP/AC Polarity, 1/8"
(Pack of
5)
Make every weld seamless with the 222 Cast Iron Stick Rod Electrode, a machinable electrode designed specifically for professional welders. Whether you're repairing cast iron or joining it to steel, this high-nickel electrode ensures smooth, spatter-free welds with reliable strength. Perfect for all-position and out-of-position welding, it’s even effective on thin sheet metal, saving you time and effort on complex jobs. Plus, the fully machinable feature and pass-over-pass welding capability mean less downtime and efficient, durable repairs without dismantling equipment.
High strength welds
Fully machinable
Pass-over-pass welding to save time
All-position welding may eliminate the need to dismantle equipment to perform repairs
Easily machinable cast iron repairs
Tensile Strength: 65,000 PSIHardness: 170 200 BHNPolarity: AC or DC Straight or Reverse
The high nickel content in 222 provides for easy machinability.
Typical Applications
Pump and bearing housings
Cylinder blocks and heads
Machine bases
Manifolds and exhaust systems
Usage Procedure:Remove grease, scale and other impurities from weld area. Bevel cracks or breaks (70° to 90° V). CRONACUT™ 1100 is the fastest and easiest method to prepare section for weld repairing. Use a short to medium arc at the lowest possible amperage for best results. Employ weaving technique or stringer beads. Peen to relieve stress. Remove slag between passes. Slow cooling to room temperature recommended.
